Industries Longtan Township Office has posted advertisements, and established chain stores to promote its organic agricultural products. With exposure to media, organic agricultural
products are being introduced to more consumers who can experience the natural farming
environment of Longtan Township. The promotions will also elevate the income of
farmers, accelerate area development, improve the agricultural production
structure, and transform traditional agricultures to a form of leisure industry
that focus on services.
Paochung
Tea, planted in Longtan, is famous across Taiwan. In 1983, Mr. Lee Teng-Hui, former
President of Taiwan, renamed Paochung Tea as “Long Chuen Tea” [literally:
the tea
nourished by the springs in Longtan]. Visitors can find tea plantations in
many hills and villages in Longtan including Long Tan Terrace, Dianzihu Terrace,
Tonluochuan Terrace, Sansuei Village, Sanhe Village and Sanlin Village. Four tea
farms have been designed for visitors as part of a plan to develop local tourism. Visitors
can tour the farms, enjoy their tea and shop there as well! In addition to
the beautiful sceneries of
the farms, visitors will have a better understanding
of the tea culture of Longtan and
 contribute to the local tourism and agricultural
industries. In recent years, there has been an increasing variety of tea products, and
promotional activities have been organized to introduce the healthy properties of
tea. In addition, tea farmers are engaged in dynamic business operations in which
the public can have opportunities to pick tea leaves, make tea, and learn how to appreciate tea.
The activities are launched with the hope that Lung Chuen Paochung Tea will be better
known and the heritage of local culture will be passed on. |
Longtan has become the major town in north of Taiwan while also the outlet of Tao-Chu-Maio
products. It is also the geographical center, essence of industrial of north Taiwan
(North of Mial Li ). It has a well educational system; besides, it is adjacent to
CKS Airport. On one hand due to strip development along second high-way while on the other hand the construction of Aero City, we expect to build Longtan Scientific
and Intellectual Park to become major town of Taoyuan Technical industries while
at the same time building up township Administrative Office connecting channel with
Chung Shan Scientific Research Institute is just neighboring to our township making
us to be rather potential in scientific development with full of brains who could express their talents in the [ Taoyuan silicon valley ].
There are now in the township, Ta Yu Industrial Park, Accer Intellectual Park, chin Shan
Research Park which are the typical example of industrial development. We will enhance
the establishment of Scientific City to build up the [ Taoyuan Silicon Valley]
.
The development of Tao Yuan Silicon Valley is to integrate the current technological
resources in Taoyuan Area while at the same time reproduce, renew and upgrade the
current existing industrial areas in the village, combine regional researching institutes
and development of high end industrial. Furthermore to improving the technical capacity
of current existing industries, stimulate the development and innovation of industries
in Taoyuan County to promote development of overall in dustries in Taoyuan County.
