Since I took the office as the representative of the people, I have upheld the principle
of following public opinion, serving people, being grateful and creating an administration
based
on services. With the belief of “brotherhood and love for our hometown”, I have
been proactive in administering the township office in order to bring more benefits
to the people, and have spared no effort for the betterment of the town.
In the course of ten years, I have helped solve problems in
the town and obtain
funding for construction. For example, the establishment of
Long Sing Elementary School, the land allocation under the elevated bridge of National
Highway No.3, the renovation of the auditorium in Longtan
Elementary School, the
rainwater drainage system of Jhongjheng Road, the
Provincial Highway No.69 broadening project, the glazed roof tile construction
of the Senior Center, the Route 113 Jia broadening project, the imbursement for
Bade residents due to pollutions of the Pingjen Dump site, tap water project for Bade, Wulin and Shanglin, the slope protection project in Tonluochuan, the establishment
of the
Hakka Cultural Museum, the promotion of community reconstruction, and concerns
over minority groups are evidence of my hard work and devotion to the town.
To serve more people, and promote the idea of community healthcare, I am obliged
to take the office of the Director General of the Longtan Healthcare Promotion Committee
to lead a group of enthusiastic volunteers to serve our residents. Their
achievements
have already been widely recognized. Also, I encourage
 people
to engage in boat rowing as a leisure activity and hence have established the Taoyuan
County Rowing Committee.To serve more people, and promote the idea of community
healthcare, I am obliged to take the office of the Director General of the Longtan

Today, many enthusiastic people in our society have contributed a lot of money and
made great efforts in order to create a better future, but it is undeniable that
our environment has been untidy, criminal offences have remained, and the disadvantaged
minorities still have no access to reasonable care and respect. In addition, the
traffic needs to be improved, the climate of the society is in anomy and the morality
of the citizen is falling. All mentioned above have shown that our society is ill.
Particularly the improper implementation of the government causes that the irrigation
areas of Shihmen have been delayed for use over two decades and the ditch and the
reservoir
 have been deserted. Not only the land resources
have been wasted, but also the blind spots of environmental protection have been
formed. Furthermore, the local development has been limited. The Shihmen Urban Planning
was failed to proceed for almost forty years that the local development has
lagged behind seriously. The limitation of the floor space index within Longtan
Urban Planning is lifted eventually after fighting for many years. However, the
inappropriate restraint for so many years has resulted in the seriously sluggish
urban construction which influences profoundly on the prosperity of Longtan. |
I have been trying to find the solution for a long time. Unfortunately, the anticipated
effect was not achieved due to the levels involved are too broad. I was diagnosed
with nasopharyngeal cancer at the end of last year. Although my long-term treatment
has been finished, the sustained rest is still required. Nevertheless, all of the
secretaries and I will continue to make efforts and we hope everyone can join hand
in hand to cooperate with each other. Especially considering the economic recession,
the outward moving of the industries and the rising unemployment rate, I expect
that to align with the trend of the industrial development, the government will
provide more support and subsidies based on the features of our village that Longtan
can become a vital village characterized by tourism, technology and culture.
